Modal fiiller, “can, could, may, might, must, should, will, would” gibi yardımcı fiillerdir. Bir fiilin anlamını değiştirmek, olasılık, izin, zorunluluk ya da tavsiye gibi modalite (kip) ifadeleri katmak için kullanılırlar.
Yapı: Subject + Modal Verb + Base Verb + … e.g. She can swim very well.
Her modal fiilin ardından gelen fiil mastar (to-siz) hâlde kullanılır.

6. İpuçları ve Stratejiler
Kontekste Dikkat: “Must” hem zorunluluk hem de çıkarım için kullanılır (“He must be tired” = “Eminim ki yorgundur”).
Kibarlaşma: “Could / Would / May” izin istemede ve teklif sunmada “can” / “will” ifadelerinden daha naziktir.
